Everything ships tracked by Australia Post Express Post from our kitchen in Hervey Bay, Queensland. We use Express for every order, including the free ones — not for speed alone, but to keep a food parcel in the network for as few days as possible.
What it costs
- Orders of $119.95 or more — free Express Post
- Orders under $119.95 — flat rate $20.00, anywhere in Australia
One flat rate nationwide, whether you are in Brisbane or Broome. Express Post from regional Queensland costs us more to the west than the east, and we would rather absorb that than charge a Perth customer double.
Dispatch
Orders are packed and dispatched within one to two business days. Each parcel is vacuum sealed on the day it goes out rather than packed in advance, which is the main reason it isn’t same-day.
You will get tracking by email as soon as your parcel leaves us. We don’t post on weekends or public holidays.
Delivery estimates
Counted in business days from dispatch, not from when you ordered:
- Brisbane and south-east Queensland — 1 business day
- Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide — 2–3 business days
- Perth, Hobart, Darwin — 3–5 business days
- Regional and remote areas — Add 1–3 business days
These are estimates, not guarantees. Once a parcel is with Australia Post the timing is genuinely out of our hands, and we would rather give you an honest range than a promise we can’t keep. Your tracking number is the live answer.
Does it need to be refrigerated in transit?
No. A sealed pouch is stable at room temperature for nine to twelve months, so there is no cold chain to break and no need for anyone to be home when it arrives. That is a property of how it is cured and sealed, not something we add — the packaging page explains it.
Addresses and missed deliveries
Please double-check your delivery address at checkout. Parcels can go to a home, a workplace, a PO box or a Parcel Locker. If a parcel can’t be delivered, Australia Post will usually leave a card and hold it at a nearby outlet for collection.
If a parcel comes back to us because the address was wrong, we will gladly resend it, though we may need to charge postage a second time.
Where we ship
Australia only. Cured meat faces import restrictions in most other countries and we would rather not sell you something that gets seized at a border. If you are overseas and want to send a gift to an Australian address, that works fine — order as normal and put their address in.
Something wrong with your parcel?
Damaged in transit, spoiled, or not what you ordered — that is covered and you won’t need to post anything back. See the return policy, or just email hello@gourmet-biltong.com.au.
