These are the terms that apply when you buy from Gourmet Biltong Co. We have kept them short and in plain language, because terms nobody reads protect nobody.
Who we are
Gourmet Biltong Co is a family business based in Hervey Bay, Queensland. We make and sell air-dried cured meat and ship it within Australia. You can reach us at hello@gourmet-biltong.com.au.
Placing an order
When you place an order you are making an offer to buy. We accept it when we dispatch your parcel, not when you click the button. Until then we may decline or cancel an order — for example if an item sells out, if a price or description was listed in error, or if we cannot deliver to the address given. If we cancel, you get a full refund.
Please check your order before paying. Because we sell food, we cannot accept change-of-mind returns once a parcel is dispatched.
Prices and payment
All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. Shipping is charged separately and shown before you pay. We may change prices at any time, but never after you have placed an order.
Payment is taken through our checkout provider. We never see or store your full card details.
Delivery
We ship within Australia only, by Australia Post Express Post. Rates, dispatch times and delivery estimates are on the shipping page. Delivery estimates are estimates — once a parcel is with the courier, timing is not something we control.
It is your responsibility to give a correct address. If a parcel is returned to us because the address was wrong or nobody could receive it, we will happily resend it, but we may need to charge postage again.
Your consumer rights
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If something is faulty, spoiled, damaged in transit, incorrect or not as described, you are entitled to a replacement or a refund — and you will not need to post anything back to us.
The return policy explains how to make a claim. Nothing on this page limits those rights.
Food, ingredients and storage
Every product lists its full ingredients on its own page. If you have an allergy or intolerance, read that list and email us before ordering if anything is unclear — we would rather answer a question than have you take a risk.
Our products are food. Once a parcel has been delivered, storing it properly is up to you; the packaging and storage page explains how. Nutrition information on this site is provided in good faith as a guide.
Using this website
The words, photographs and design on this site belong to us. You are welcome to share and link to our pages. Please don’t copy our content or photography for commercial use, or use the site in a way that interferes with it or with anyone else using it.
Our liability
Other than the consumer guarantees described above, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Where we are permitted to limit our liability, it is limited to replacing the goods or refunding what you paid for them.
To be clear: this paragraph does not take away any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law, and it is not intended to.

These terms cover retail orders placed on this website. Wholesale and trade supply is arranged separately — see wholesale.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. The version published when you place your order is the one that applies to it, and the date at the top tells you when this page last changed.
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
